Dear Hip.......WHY!!!!??????

Have you ever seen that video from this show called Portlandia......


welllll pretty much my hip is screaming at me all the time in the exact same way....WHY!!!!!
it goes something like this....

"I'm stopping......WHY?????....dance....WHY????? Slow down.....lemme rest!!!...you wanna dance....Hip RIGHT.....hip hip hip hip........WHYYYYYYYYYY.???? whadu lookin at......hold Up I'm STOPPPED!!!! Go vegan."

Ok I know its not the same thing.....but really my hip is having this type of dialogue with me.....
and it SUCKS!.

Last year at Tribal Fest 11, I tore my hip flexor right on stage in the middle of our set with Ginger Blue....


yepppp right at 6:25.....you can't tell......well I can tell...cause you nearly had to crane me down the steps to get off the stage.....
who knew flying from Europe to Vancouver for 12 hours....then sitting in a car for 18 hours Driving to SF then dancing all week, then getting on stage without warming up would effect anything....meh.

ya I know ...duh me.

Sooooooooooo its been almost a year...and yeah. Hip still messed up. Apparently I'm quite the mystery. Specialists, physiotherapists, blah blah blah ists....the short end of it, my damn hip is still messed up.

Resting works....but I PAY, when I get moving again.....sitting not good times for Martina....I recline alot.
Besides....I'm tired of resting, I need to be more proactive....

So as another week comes and goes that I will see another specialist.....I am still training...not so much dance training. But swimming, yoga...and now yes wait for it. Nordic walking....I can here my best friend Linda falling down in a fit a giggles from here.

ok stop laughing now.

So I guess the whole point of this blog is a call for support. Really...I'm very very very tired of the whole thing.

I don't have a choice anymore I need to stay motivated to keep moving, and unfortunately I have to figure some type of regular cross training regime.......so please be patient with me...if you start seeing my fitness updates.....
really its all in my attempts to fix my damn hip.

blah. WHY!!! stupid hip.....::::::grumble:::::::::

As a bellydancer having an injured hip can only be both frustrating and problematic. Do whatever makes it better and know you are supported.
